such beautiful photos… I still haven’t been to Igoumenitsa, only been to Corfu by air. It looks like a place i’d love to visit.
few years ago it was a trip of several hours to drive from thessaloniki to igoumenitsa, but i liked.
if you drive over the highway, you’ re missing a lot of the countryside, which is so beautiful in northwest greece.
That is very true 🙂 you do miss a lot of the country side! But the highway also does make it very easy for the people living in the north east, to come and visit us here in the west… 🙂
These days even a long weekend is easy to do 🙂 6-8 hours was to long, in the past…:(
I used sometimes the old road to simulate a rally 🙂
It was very funny and a little bit dangerous…anyway, take please as many pictures from the area as possible, things change so fast…
Things do change 🙂 but it is also nice to remember the old :):)
indeed…I like the pure documentary photography in just to keep something *alive*…photographs does not have always to be awesome, just a straight picture is also enough.
I agree with you very much 🙂 For me Photography is to capture the moments… Your moments! Reality is always more beautiful than make believe!
make things believe is not always bad in the photography, by portraits for example…since everyone wants to look great 🙂

The whole area is just beautiful. I used to live in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and I don’t think I’ve ever seen date palms with such substance and girth. They really caught my eye. It looks like a wonderful setting for boating enthusiasts.

Now this port we know and love very well. Sadly our experiences with Greek bureaucracy at its ports have gone downhill recently. The cuts in the civil service are making it very frustrating 😦
The first & last photos of the grounded boats remind me of a children’s book by Chris Van Allsberg, The Wreck of the Zephyr.
